  6. EGS-TV-Professional   The Desktop-Video and Framegrabber software for EGS
  7. ===================
  8.  
  9. This is the full version of EGS-TV V3.1, the shareware Video software for
  10. EGS graphic boards. To use this as full version you need a keyfile, which
  11. can only be obtained by registering directly by me. Without keyfile
  12. EGS-TV has some restrictions.
  13.  
  14. To run this program you need an EGS-Graphics board with EGS version 6.0
  15. or higher, OS2.04 or higher and at least 2MByte free RAM (Fast-RAM) and
  16. same picture source. The most comfortable picture source is a framegrabber
  17. and currently VLab,VLab-Par,Y/C-VLab and Y/C-VLab-Par are supported as
  18. framegrabbers. Other framegrabbers (e.g. IV24) are planned for the future.
  19. You can also use a paint program or an image processing program as source.
  20. Currently ImageFX, EGS-ImageFX and many 24Bit EGS-Programs as PicoPainter
  21. and SpectraPaint/EGS-Paint can be used by fast direct imports!
  22.  
  23. Even without a framegrabber you can use EGS-TV as harddisk-sequence/animation
  24. editing and blue screen keying effect software.
  25.  
  26. The registration fee for EGS-TV Professional is currently 30US$ for users
  27. outside of europe and 40DM for users in europe. Alternatively you can still
  28. register the classical version of EGS-TV (20US$ or 25DM) (see documentation
  29. for differences).

  31. EGS-TV has the following features (even without keyfile):
  32.  
  33. * *** new ***: Fast import function for pictures from (EGS-)ImageFX
  34.  
  35. * *** new ***: Fast import function for EGS-Bitmaps (can be used with
  36.   many programs as SpectraPaint, PicoPainter, ...)
  37.  
  38. * Monitor window in upto 64000 colors in size 360*310 (PAL), 360*260 (NTSC),
  39.   180*155 (PAL) or 180*130 (NTSC) with surprisingly fast update rates for
  40.   VLab users.
  41.  
  42. * Unlimited number of Preview windows in greyscale or color for multiple grabs
  43.   of halfframes, HiRes-halfframes and fullframes. The big grabs can be viewed
  44.   in fullsize-Previewwindows or downscaled to LoRes. This allows you to grab
  45.   multiple frames and compare them to decide, which is the best to use and
  46.   transfer.

  48. * Unlimited number of sequence windows with unlimited number of frames in
  49.   any sequence (limited only by memory; Professional version also offers
  50.   harddisk sequences with full video editing). Every sequence has it's
  51.   own preview window, where the current frame is shown or the sequence
  52.   can be played as animation forwards and backwards. You can delete or
  53.   regrab single frames and move through the sequence frame by frame
  54.   forward and backward. Editing functions for insert and assemble
  55.   recordings are also implemented. All Theese features can be controled
  56.   with a comfortable sequence control panel (similair to VTRs). You can
  57.   even combine new foreground signals into existing sequences with
  58.   the amazing Blue Screen Keying (Chroma Keying).
  59.   For the professional version similair features are planned for hard-
  60.   disk recording, to become independent of the main memory size.
  61.  
  62. * Flexible Chroma Keying with realtime Blue Screen effect by using quasi
  63.   two VLab inputs concurrently. Chroma color (or range) can be configured
  64.   freely. this feature is usable for monitor, single grabs and even sequences.
  65.   You can combine any number of new foreground signals with an existing
  66.   background sequence. This offers many stunning trick technics.
  67.  
  68. * Color intensity can be changed for monitor (realtime recoloring),
  69.   previews and final pictures. More options will probably be integrated,
  70.   if enough users register.
  71.  
  72. * Flexible Deinterlace-function with differnt modes and strengths. This
  73.   includes an Undo-Feature to try different paramters on a fullframe picture.
  74.  
  75. * Grab-Area can be selected by mouse or numerically.

  77. * Runs on it's own screen in size of the EGS-Default screen with 24Bit
  78.   (if possible) or with the color depth of your Default screen.

  80. * supports PAL and NTSC Video sources.

  82. * supports upto 6 video inputs, which might be distributed over several
  83.   VLab boards.

  85. * supports TimeBaseCorrection for Video tape recorders.

  91. Registered users get the following additional features with their keyfiles:

  93. * Saving and loading of settings (Database of settings for different video
  94.   sources)
  95.  
  96. * Saving of preferences for program start options

  98. * runs with any screenmode or directly on the EGS-DefaultScreen (to be shared
  99.   with other EGS-applications)
  100.  
  101. * can even "jump" to any EGS-Screen which is already opened, for improved
  102.   comfort when using EGS-TV with another program.

  104. * Saves grabbed frames to Clipboard or to file and transfers them automatically
  105.   to other applications via ARexx-commands or by fast direct-ports. Transfer
  106.   operations can be customized by the user to make EGS-TV communicate with
  107.   any ARexx-capable application.
  108.   Currently supported file types: IFF (compressed and uncompressed), YUV, DEEP,
  109.   PPM, QRT, Targa and JPeg (JPeg is only available in the professional version)

  111. * Fast direct transfer to PicoPainter (as Picture or as Brush) and to
  112.   (EGS-)ImageFX
  113.  
  114. * Sequences can be saved and loaded in a special YUV-like file format (a se-
  115.   parate player program is included)
  116.  
  117. * All pictures of a sequence can be exported automatically in one of the
  118.   supported file formats (IFF,YUV,DEEP,PPM,QRT,Targa,JPeg).

  120. * Harddisk recording, editing and playback (professional version only)

  122. * Precise time code and timing control for recording and playback with
  123.   option tomanually set the timecode for each frame (Professional only)

  126. information on using EGS-TV.

  128. A registrationform and a softwareimprovementform (for bug reports and
  129. suggestions) is supplied in this archiv (please print them with 12CPI
  130. and a left margin of 10).

  134. A separate player program for EGS-TV sequences is now available.
  135. It plays sequences direct from harddrive and is independent of VLab
  136. and vlab.library, so that any EGS-User can use it.
  137. You can find EGS-TV-Player in a separate archiv named
  138. "egstvplayerxx.lha" where xx is the version number.
  139. An interesting demo sequence is included in that archiv.

  144. I tried my best to make this program error-free. It has been checked
  145. with enforcer and mungwall and works without problems on my configuration.
  146. Nevertheless, as there are so many possible configurations of Amigas,
  147. EGS-Systems, VLab-Versions, I can not guarantee that this software
  148. will work on your configuration. Especially the complex EGS-System
  149. does not have the desired stability in some situations. In cases
  150. where I found problems with EGS, I tried to workaround them, or
  151. explained them in the documentation.

  154. comes with no warranty, either expressed or implied.

  156. occur due to direct or indirect usage of this software. You use

  170. The demo version of EGS-TV may be freely distributed as long as the
  171. following conditions are met:
  172.  
  173. 1) All files have to be kept together
  174.  
  175. 2) No file may be modified or crunched/packed.
  176.  
  177.    The only official way to distribute EGS-TV demo packed is the original
  178.    egstv.lha or egstv.lzh-archive.
  179.  
  180.    EGS-TV may not be disassembled or analysed. The limitations integrated
  181.    in the demo version may under no circumstance be removed or bypassed.
  182.  
  183. 3) Distributors may only charge for the duplication process (including media)
  184.    and not for the software. Theese charges may not exceed the following
  185.    limits: a) EGS-TV demo on a PD-disk: 8$ (US-dollar) including
  186.               postage&packing (in Germany: 12DM)
  187.        b) EGS-TV demo on a PD-CD-ROM: 50$ (US-dollar) including
  188.               postage&packing (in Germany: 75DM)
  189.        c) EGS-TV demo on a BBS/Mailbox/ftp-site or other electronically
  190.               callable system: Maximum charge 4$ (US-dollar) (in Germany: 6DM)
  191.               for downloading
  192.    Anyway, it must be made explictly clear to the buyer, that he does not
  193.    pay for the program (demo) itself but only for the duplication service.

  195. 4) It is not allowed to distribute EGS-TV with any commercial product without
  196.    a written permission by me. One exception is the distribution of the demo
  197.    version with products, not exceeding the above price limits (e.g. a cover-
  198.    disk magazine for 8$ or less).

  200.    If you want to distribute EGS-TV demo with your commercial product
  201.    (hardware or software) write to me for details.

  203.    If you want your software product to be capable of working directly with
  204.    EGS-TV you can also contact me (address as above).

  206. 5) The registered version may not be redistributed. It may only run on one
  207.    machine per registration. It is allowed to make a backup copy of the
  208.    original disk.
